Loose joints in pieces of furniture can be dangerous. Joints loosen over time with use of the furniture, or as the bonds between the two parts weaken. It’s important to fix them as soon as possible to avoid any injuries.

Epoxy fills gaps while also repairing the wiggle. Buy a small double syringe from the local hardware store for small repair jobs. Make sure to read the instructions and purchase an epoxy meant to be usedon wooden surfaces.

Use a brush to apply the epoxy to both surfaces. Assemble the parts of the joint and clamp if needed. Be sure to wait for the maximum time allotted. For example, five-minute epoxy may take a couple of hours to dry and cure fully. The name is misleading, making it all the more important that you read the instructions.

Once the epoxy dries, you’re safe to resume use of the furniture. Just remember that the effects of epoxy are not permanent.
