You may not spend much time in your attic, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t inspect it for concerns such as mold. Without proper attention, you could discover mold in the attic.
Leaks
Older, poorly maintained roofs are culprits for mold growth. Missing shingles, cracked flashing or weather damage can introduce moisture from the roof into the attic. Undetected, this can lead to attic mold. Repair roof problems promptly. You should also regularly inspect your roof, especially after a storm.
Ventilation Issues
Make sure your attic has good airflow. Mold thrives in warm conditions. Installing attic fans will help keep mold out. Also, redirect other exhaust vents and fans from your attic outside.
