Enjoying a refreshing shower is one of life’s more relaxing experiences. A warm shower before bed can even help you sleep better. Of course, if there’s not much water coming out when you try to take a shower, you may need to swap the head so you can have maximum water pressure.

How To Change a Shower Head Quickly

Changing a shower head is an easy home maintenance task that usually only takes 10 minutes. Here’s what to do:

  1. Cover the drain with a towel so you don’t lose any small parts.
  2. Unscrew the worn shower head. You may be able to do this by hand, or you can use a pair of pliers.
  3. Clean the pipe threads.
  4. Add the new shower head, screwing it on clockwise.
  5. Check for leaks.

Follow the installation instructions for the shower head. If they recommend using Teflon tape, apply a small layer clockwise before rotating the shower head into place.
