Remove the Moisture

If you experience a flood in your home, quick action is essential. Drying the affected area is an important part of water damage repair. Your first step is to thoroughly extract all water from the floor, walls and furniture. Use a high-powered wet vac or carpet cleaner to suck up all moisture.

Don’t Forget the Fans

Once you get rid of the water, you’ve got more work to do. Get some industrial-strength fans to move air through the area. You may have to keep fans on for at least 24 hours. You should also place dehumidifiers in your home. This will do a good job of drying out building materials, such as wood and drywall. Drying and dehumidifying will discourage the growth of mold.
